OPEN STUDIO!

Catherine Schieve and Warren Burt - Bomaderry Barracks Arts Studios - June 15 Sunday, 11 am - 5 pm

All who can make it to Bomaderry are invited to our first Open Studio one-day exhibit & performance. Come by, hang out with us in our workspace (including wonderful little performance/meeting/exhibit hall!) and catch up on artworks and performance projects by Catherine Schieve and Warren Burt.

Our studio is located in the historic Barracks Arts Studios, 16 Meroo St., Bomaderry NSW, in the Shoalhaven area not far from Berry NSW. About a 2 hour tran ride from Sydney, or a 75 minute drive from the Wollongong area. Extensive Google maps and driving/train directions below. As a railway facility, the Barracks is right on the end of the South Coast line. The drive is very beautiful if you take the coastal road along Seven Mile Beach, from Gerringong to Bomaderry. We will offer our visitors munchies, plus wine, hot chocolate and other libations for the cool weather.

Catherine will be showing Dirt Paintings, Dirt Poundings, and Miniature "Geo-Haikus," as well as some earthy jewellery and artifacts (no gallery commissions) .

Warren will offer two new performance works (one performance at 3 pm, and possible other performances during the day):

1) Board Instruments, Transpositions and Delays (2008) - duration about
20 minutes.  Homemade electro-acoustic percussion board instruments,
processed by computer.  Live performance.

2) Experience of Marfa: A Book of Drones, part 6 (2007) - duration about
40 minutes.  Microtonal drone piece played live on computer.
